I paint these landscapes from the perspective of the city dweller. Vegetation acts as mediator between humanity and its mechanized systems. Often anthropomorphized, our own concerns and relationships are reflected back to us in an unthreatening format. The paintings depict parks and other recreational or escape spaces in a manner which uplifts rather than critiques. They are concieved of as an antidote to the stresses of urbanized living.
